![]() ![]() That means that older BW systems with legacy BW objects (like cubes and DSOs) will not be supported. The picture above shows us a couple of important things, the Bridge is only available from BW7.3 onwards. ![]() Meaning that you will have a full BW system in the cloud to model complex scenarios. In short, a full blown (!) BW/4HANA system without the reporting (analytical) capabilities. What is the BW Bridge when we look under it’s hood? BW is not death, nor will it be in my career and yours, the reader. Those are the timelines that we get from the roadmap. We were just getting used to the Euro and the millennium bug. 20 years ago, I started my BW career in BW 3.0 and extracted a SAP R/3 4.5 system. BW/4HANA, SAP’s most recent flagship, is supported until at least 2040. We can imagine that this announcement brings many questions and therefore we have put the most important ones into this FAQ. The other use case, customers who will make use of the SAP RISE offering and want to extend their Cloud hosted BW system with DWC functionality. Its main goal is therefore twofold: to make a future transition into the Cloud more easily for those customers who do not want their software to live on premise anymore. By design, it creates a bridge between on prem SAP BW systems and DWC. The BW bridge is brand new and will be available for customers in 2022. I wish you a bright future and all of you success with your study and in your career.Today SAP has formally announced new Data Warehouse Cloud (DWC) functionality which should make the customer journey from on premise into the cloud easier. The contacts with you I really appreciated very much. Combining my job in the office with the one at the university appeared to be too heavy and that is the reason that I decided to stop. I feel very sorry that I am going to leave you. Professor Hordijk looks with a great pleasure on his time at TU Delft and appreciates very much his collaboration with students and colleagues. He has been a valuable person at the university for many years in the group of Concrete Structures and is known by the students from the master course Forensic Structural Engineering and other bachelor courses. March 1, Professor Dick Hordijk left the university to focus completely on his company Adviesbureau ir. Gabriela presented her research on stop criteria for proof load testing of reinforced concrete slab bridges, based on the experiments that are currently in progress in the Stevin II Laboratory. In the webinar, Eva focused on the following topics related to bridge load testing: definition of a load test, load test types and classification, feasibility analysis for using load testing, general considerations for bridge load testing, differences between load tests on new and existing bridges, and international experiences. The authors of the TRB e-circular are a task force chaired by Eva within TRB Committee AKB 40 “Testing and Evaluation of Transportation Structures”. This chapter is largely based on e-circular 257 “ Primer on Bridge Load Testing” of the Transportation Research Board, instead of on the current AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, which is based on the 1998 Manual or Bridge Rating through Load Testing. This invitation came after Eva worked with faculty of UCR – Lanamme on the new Costa Rican Manual for Bridge Evaluation, which includes a chapter on bridge load testing. ![]() On June 14th, Gabriela Zarate Garnica and Eva Lantsoght of the Concrete Structures research group taught an online webinar on Bridge Load Testing to the University of Costa Rica – Lanamme (National Laboratory of Materials and Structural Models).
